Azerbaijan Television has made 3 feature documentaries in connection with the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide.
One of the films is dedicated to National Hero Allahverdi Bagirova, AzTV's Social Media and Public Relations Department told Rupor. Another film tells the story of world-famous photojournalist Reza Diggati, who witnessed the Khojaly genocide. Another film depicts the tragedies of Khojaly residents.
The film dedicated to A. Baghirov is entitled “Allahverdi”. The feature documentary tells about the brave battle path he went through in the First Karabakh War.
The National Hero rescued nearly 1, 500 Azerbaijani captives in 1992.
In the film, the National Hero’s family members and comrades-in-arms, the woman he saved from captivity, share their memories about him.
The scriptwriter and director of the film is Elvin Mirzayev, cameraman – Elshan Badalov, producer – Fatima Azimova, head of the project – Elchin Musaoghlu.
AzTV’s film dedicated to Rza Diggati is entitled “Speaking photos”.
R. Diggati arrived in Azerbaijan as soon as he learnt about the Khojaly Genocide; he found a way to Aghdam and met with Khojaly residents there. He participated in the process of the swap of captives, corpses, filmed what he saw. In the film, the photo reporter talks about the events he witnessed.
Nazila Mamishova, Famil Salahov, Valeh Huseynov and others, who experienced the pain of the Khojaly Genocide, have given interviews for the documentary.
The director of the “Speaking photos” is Elnur Mammadov, scriptwriter – Afag Ahmadova, cameraman – Javid Aliyev, video editing director – Zurab Salmanoghlu.
The third film is entitled “The Basement”. It tells the story of the woman – Mehriban Bakirova who was hiding in the basement during the Armenian attack on Khojaly.
M. Bakirova speaks about the pain she suffered, expresses her feelings and excitement.
Thus, on the day of the genocide, she was hiding in a basement together with other Khojaly residents, mainly women, children and elderly people. Mehriban, who was already a mother of 3, gave birth to her fourth child in that basement. At that time, the people in the basement were taken captive by the Armenians. When she was taken captive, she lost one of her children. A Russian journalist found the child, brought him to her and achieved to rescue her.
The scriptwriter of the film is Leyla Gadirzade, director – Zaur Zeynal, cameraman – Agshin Rzayev, producer – Mammadhuseyn Mehdizade, head of the project – Hamid Asadzade.
All the three films will be broadcast on AzTV and screened at the Park Cinema (at the Park Boulevard) on February 26.
The film “Allahverdi” will be screened at the Park Cinema at 15:50, 17:50 and 19:50.
The film “Speaking photos” will be demonstrated at 15:10, 17:10 and 19:10.
Those, who want to watch the film “The Basement”, may approach the Park Cinema at 14:30, 16:30 and 18:30.
